The best mental model I’ve found for working with AI is this: it’s a brilliant intern who never sleeps, has read everything, and has zero scars.

It’s fast. It reaches further than I expect. And it will hand me confidently wrong work with the exact same tone it uses for the right answer.

I would never merge an intern’s pull request without reading it. Not because they’re bad — because they haven’t yet lived through the outage that teaches caution. The model hasn’t either.

So I let it draft. I let it explore. I let it do the typing I don’t want to do. Then I read every line like I’m responsible for it — because I am.

The tool made the first draft cheap. It didn’t make my judgment optional. If anything, judgment is the only part left that’s fully mine.
