Some of My Best Lines Were Accidents I Kept

I hit a wrong note on stage once
and braced for it to ruin everything.

Instead, on instinct, I played it again.
Then bent it somewhere on purpose.

It became the best part of the solo.

That night taught me something
I keep relearning.

A mistake is only a mistake
if you flinch and run from it.

Played again, deliberately,
it’s just a new idea you didn’t plan.

Some of the lines I’m proudest of
started as accidents
I was brave enough to keep.

Now when I slip,
I don’t apologize.
I ask where it wants to go.
