Busy All Day, Nothing to Show — Never Again

I had whole weeks once
that felt completely full
and produced nothing I could point to.

Meetings. Messages. Motion.
Tired every night, with nothing built.

I’d been measuring the wrong thing.

I was counting hours in the chair,
as if sitting longer was the same as doing more.

So I changed the question.

Not “how long did I work today,”
but “what exists now that didn’t this morning?”

Some short days answered that loudly.
Some long ones answered with silence.

The chair time was never the point.

Now I count the output.
That number doesn’t let me lie to myself.
