The Only Thing Worth Mastering Is Mastery Itself

I’ve learned and forgotten
more tools than I can name.

Languages I was sure mattered.
Frameworks that defined a year, then vanished.

For a while that felt like wasted effort.

Then I realized what actually stayed:
I’d gotten better at learning.

Each new thing came faster than the last.
The specific knowledge expired.
The skill of acquiring it didn’t.

So that’s what I invest in now.
Not the tool of the moment —
the ability to pick up the next one quickly.

That’s the one thing nothing makes obsolete.
